Our Services
Shepparton Equine specialises in equine lameness, prepurchase examinations, reproduction and surgery. The practice is predominantly ambulatory, with full diagnostics (digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, dental equipment) available to our clients.
Surgery, complex lameness investigations and farrier days are undertaken at the clinic in Shepparton East.
Ambulatory Medicine
We are an ambulatory practice, with fully portable diagnostics including digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and dental equipment. We service all locations within the Goulburn Valley and alternative locations upon request. New clients and emergency consultations are always welcome.
Surgery
We perform general equine surgery (cryptorchids, wounds, enucleations, mass removals etc) and orthopaedic surgeries (arthroscopy, fracture repair, septic joints) at our clinic base at Riverside Farm.
Prepurchase Evaluations
Our veterinarians are experienced in all types of prepurchase examinations, aiming to provide you with a comprehensive evaluation of the horse you are buying. We routinely conduct basic through to complex prepurchase exams, breeding soundness exams and stallion prepurchase evaluations
Reproductive & Stud Medicine
Reproductive and stud medicine services (new foal exams, IgG assessment, microchipping etc) can be undertaken at your farm. Agistment breeding services for a small number of horses are available at Riverside Farm. Please call to discuss your requirements.
Lameness & Poor Perfomance
We have extensive experience in first opinion & referral lameness & poor performance exams, across all equine disciplines and performance levels. Complex evaluations may need to be undertaken at our clinic base in Shepparton East.
Farrier Day
Once monthly, master farrier Ben Croft visits the clinic at Riverside Farm. This service is available to our clients to use. We also offer a combined lameness and farrier consultation for difficult to manage orthopaedic issues.
